I stumbled upon this beautiful house last week through the Paige + Modern blog. It's been an ambition of mine to build a home into a Welsh hillside ever since I started watching Grand Designs. I hope it can be like this, only with a little less concrete.
The design is by SeARCH and Christian Muller Architects
I especially like the house's minimal visual effect on the landscape.
Here in the UK, we're facing this massive housing crisis, which I think is being exacerbated by people's reservations and objections to new houses being built on their green belts. That and the finance.
My personal opinion is that those objections come from the fact that new houses are all so ugly and sterile. Perhaps if UK developers could move towards designs like this, we might actually see new homes that enable the communities they're built in to stay beautiful, and become more sustainable and economically viable in the future.
