Don't let anyone tell you that Welsh isn't a beautiful language.
I've just recently come across Georgia Ruth, who has a new album out. It's one of the reasons to regret not still living in Cardiff, that I hopefully would have heard her music sooner. Anyway, now that I'm on it, I'm looking forward to catching one of these performances soon:
I quite like how a lot of independent and folk music in Wales draws this really interesting line through Americana and bluegreass - somewhere between Nickel Creek and J.J. Cale. I don't think it's immediately obvious, but when you listen to acts like Gorky's Zycotic Mynci and Gruff Rhys - even though they brought something new along - you can kind of hear a common thread.
